IDRC Chengdu 2009 will be held in order to commemorate the first anniversary of Wenchuan earthquake. This conference will sum up the experiences that China and international community coped with this earthquake, to effectively deal with the disasters which is more and more complicated, and to create a safer and harmonious world. During this conference, the Conference Organizing Committee will organize participants to visit focused earthquake site in Wenchuan earthquake and inspect its destruction and reconstruction. Here, we are pleased to welcome specialists, scholars and officials to attend this conference and submit papers to Conference Organizing Committee.
IDRC Chengdu 2009 will issue a proceeding to help conference participants and all the people who concerned the career of the disaster prevention and reduction to share the disaster management experiences and up to date research products of the international community, in order to promote the contact between attendees. All the submitted papers which have been accepted by the Conference Scientific Committee will be included in the proceeding.
The proceeding of IDRC Chengdu 2009 will have formal publication number, and will also apply for Index to Scientific & Technical Proceedings (ISTP). The Conference Scientific Committee will further assess some excellent papers and recommend them to Journal of Urban Planning and Development which is issued in USA. This Journal is indexed by Science Citation Index (SCI). We sincerely welcome you to participate in this conference which many specialists in the field of international disaster and risk management will attend, and submit paper to this conference.
