IDRC Chengdu  2009 China - Session Application Guidelines and Information

Prospective organizers of sessions for IDRC Chengdu 2009 China should submit an application for review by the Organizing Committee of the conference. Applications which do not match the following conditions will not be considered. The application submission deadline for sessions is May 15, 2009.

The application must include the following 9 parts and must be made using the application form for a session, following the formatting guidelines below:

1. The name(s) of the organization making the application, and the address and contact information for the person that will arrange and moderate the session

2. The title of the proposed session

3. The description of the purpose and desired outcomes of the session with 200 words or less

4. Five key words.

5. A short tentative agenda for the session, which should be text only (no graphics) and contain no more than 6000 characters including blank spaces (less than two pages). The agenda should outline possible speakers, audience discussion, proposed timing of presentations and audience discussion (i.e. time allotted to presentations, moderator, and audience discussion).The content of the session should include:
     a. Presentation of projects or topics and analysis of the issue(s) which are directly related to disaster risk reduction;
     b. Moderator-led audience discussion of results and findings;
     c. Conclusions and proposed concrete steps that contribute to risk reduction in a specific area.

6.  A description of no more than 750 characters including blank spaces (about 100 words) of the Organization proposing the session
