Description
|
The occurrence of natural disasters are usually accompanied by secondary disasters, and sometimes secondary disasters have greater destructive power. In 2008, “5•12” Wenchuan huge earthquake destroyed a number of dams, hydropower stations, river levees, infrastructures of water supply, irrigation, soil and water conservation seriously, and also produced a large number of landslides and debris flows, resulted in river and reservoir sedimentation , the formation of a large number of barrier lake. The problems of flood safety, the safety of drinking water are very serious and threat the life safty of people in the disaster areas and the rescue workers. The session will focus on the risk assessment and scientific disposal of the dangerous reservoirs barrier lakes by Wenchuan earthquake to provide experience for secondary disasters caused by the catastrophic earthquake.
