China is a natural disaster-prone country, and the disasters such as floods, droughts, landslides, crop diseases and insect diseases usually happen in rural areas. Wenchuan Earthquake brought huge casualties and economic losses to rural areas. So the risk faced by China rural villages is no less than China cities, and it would be more difficult to rehabilitate than cities. Therefore, this special session will focus on how to improve disaster prevention capacity in rural areas, strengthen village’s disaster defense system and forward to construct rural safety community.
